MONGOOSE History
2003 - 2023
In a small space tucked away in the old chocolate factory along Terminal Ave on the edge of downtown Vancouver, the first few songs were hacked out of an old 8track cassette machine. That first 12 songs or so became the first recording called "White Plastic Deer" and The Goose was born. Shockk and RC used an old piano in the jam space and spent two weeks working on ideas. After those songs were recorded then decided to put together a group and Johnny Wildkat entered the picture. Touring started in 2003.
The spring of 2003 was the first trip to Edmonton Alberta with the gear stuffed into a blue dodge minivan. Hardly enough room for the gear let alone the 4 of us ( Shockk, Brock, Clay and RC).
Fast forward to 2010 and Tokyo Japan. For two weeks we were lucky enough to melt faces with Steve and Wildkat, rippin' it up with some amazing punk rock bands and eat amazing food. One of the highlights was the fish fry after one of the shows. The promoters fired up a bbq right there on the floor of the club and threw on the fresh trout someone had caught that day. Fish and beer until the wee hours of the morn. Then there was the winter Olympic shows with Steel Panther! Epic doesn't quite sum those guys up!
The Goose has been fortunate to run into really amazing people along the way that have welcomed us into their homes and let us be part of their lives for a short time. You can click the link below if you feel like sharing a story and jogging our memory.
